Our story
Northwind started in 2003 in a single truck out of a Northeast Portland garage. Our founder, a journeyman HVAC tech who grew up fixing furnaces with his dad, was tired of watching big companies upsell neighbors on equipment they did not need. He believed homeowners deserved honest advice and fair prices, full stop.
Word spread the way it does in Portland: one happy neighbor at a time. Today Northwind runs a fleet of fully stocked trucks and a team of background-checked, NATE-certified technicians, but we are still the same family business at heart. The founder's kids now help run the shop, and many of our techs have been with us for over a decade.
